Learning that doesn’t stop at the classroom door.
When lectures, assignments and administration had to work for tens of thousands of users — on campus and off — the institution needed more than licences. It needed a governed tenant: structured Teams, managed identities, protected mail and clear ownership.
I designed the tenant structure, migrated mail to Exchange Online, rolled out Teams for teaching and administration, and put the identity and security policies in place that keep a tenant of this size manageable.
A tenant run like infrastructure.
- Tenant architecture: naming, Teams structure and SharePoint topology
- Exchange Online migration with coexistence and cutover planning
- Entra ID identity lifecycle: provisioning, groups and MFA
- Security baselines: conditional access, DLP and retention policy
Governance before growth.
Design
Tenant structure and policies agreed before a single licence is assigned.
Pilot
One faculty live first — lessons folded back before wider rollout.
Roll out
Phased migration with training and support at each stage.
Operate
Ongoing administration, reviews and lifecycle management.
What the institution gained.
A single governed environment where teaching, communication and administration happen — with managed identities, protected mail and Teams that staff actually use. Onboarding a new session’s students is now a defined process, not a scramble.
Ongoing administration and training keep the tenant healthy as it grows.
